IMO suspends Strait of Hormuz vessel evacuation after attack on cargo ship

The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) has temporarily suspended its evacuation initiative with immediate effect. The evacuation plan will be paused until further clarity is obtained.

Action required: Vessel operators, masters and shipping companies must monitor official IMO communications and coastal state guidance, maintain awareness of maritime security advisories, conduct updated risk assessments, and continue reporting to UKMTO. Do not transit the Strait of Hormuz without consulting the latest official guidance.
