Ajman introduces seven-hour summer working day for government staff

The emirate of Ajman has announced a flexible working hours system for government employees during peak summer. The initiative runs from June 29 to August 28, reducing daily working hours to seven. Government employees will work from 7.30am to 2.30pm Monday to Thursday and from 7.30am to 12pm on Fridays. According to a circular issued by the Ajman Government, entities may implement flexible hours as long as employees do not work fewer hours than prescribed. Entities operating under a shift-based system shall determine official start and end times in accordance with the nature of their work and operational requirements. This move follows a similar announcement by Dubai for its government employees.
