Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority opened a new four-lane bridge at the Al Qudra Road and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street intersection on Sunday. The 700-metre bridge on the southern side serves traffic heading towards Al Qudra City and completes the main traffic configuration after a second bridge opened in February.
Waiting times at the intersection will drop by 85 per cent, from nearly seven minutes to one minute, as capacity increases from 7,800 to 19,400 vehicles per hour.
Two more ramp bridges are scheduled to open in Q4 2026 to allow traffic movement in all directions. The full project involves upgrading several intersections, constructing four kilometres of bridges and expanding an 11.6km stretch of Al Qudra Road.
Once complete, the improvements are expected to cut journey times along the corridor by 70 per cent, from 9.4 minutes to 2.8 minutes. The project serves residential and development areas used by more than 400,000 residents and visitors.
