Delivery riders capped at 3 orders during UAE midday work ban peak hours

The UAE is enforcing its annual midday work ban from 12:30pm to 3pm daily until September 15. Delivery platforms are required to limit riders to a maximum of three orders with a total delivery time not exceeding 60 minutes during restricted hours. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) clarified that delivery riders cannot be compelled to work during restricted hours, with foot deliveries prohibited entirely during this period. Delivery platforms must ensure riders are aware of rest station locations and have access to relevant maps and guidance. Over 12,000 air-conditioned rest stations have been established across the UAE in partnership with government entities and private sector organisations. Platforms including Careem and Talabat have integrated rest station maps into their rider apps to help workers locate cooling facilities and plan breaks during summer months.
