Dh600 monthly child allowance for private-sector Emiratis from September

Emiratis working in the private sector will be eligible for a monthly allowance of Dh600 for each qualifying child from September through the Nafis programme. The allowance continues for sons until age 21 or employment, and for daughters until marriage or employment.

Eligibility requires: employment in the private sector with monthly salary between Dh6,000 and Dh50,000; active pension-fund account with contributions paid for the previous two months; salary paid through the Wage Protection System or approved payment system; no shares or stake in employer; and no concurrent social allowance for the same child from another source.

Applicants must not receive salary or pension from federal or local government, except inherited pensions. Their spouse cannot work for a government entity. Special provisions apply to Emirati women whose husbands have died or who are legally responsible for child support (confirmed by court decision and medical authority if incapacity applies).
