Etihad Rail will begin inter-emirate passenger services from Dubai on September 30, with a dedicated footbridge connecting Al Yalayis Station directly to Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on the Red Line. The footbridge is under construction to ease transfers between the national railway and Dubai's Metro network. From Jumeirah Golf Estates, passengers can access stations serving Dubai Marina, Dubai Internet City, Mall of the Emirates, Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, Business Bay, Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai International Airport's Terminals 1 and 3. Connections are also available to the Green Line at Union and BurJuman, and to the Dubai Tram at Sobha Realty and DMCC. Jumeirah Golf Estates is the largest underground station on Dubai Metro, spanning 28,700 square metres and designed to handle 11,555 passengers per hour during peak periods. RTA and Etihad Rail have signed an agreement to develop integrated ticket-booking and fare-payment solutions through the nol system.
