MoHAP shifts sick-leave attestation responsibility to healthcare facilities

The Ministry of Health and Prevention has launched an enhanced version of its sick leave attestation and approval services. Under the new approach, licensed healthcare facilities now submit attestation requests directly on behalf of patients and their companions, rather than individuals submitting requests themselves. Eligible requests that meet required conditions proceed automatically to the approval service without needing a new application. The enhancements apply to employees of the Federal Government and local governments of Ajman, Umm Al Qaiwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Healthcare facilities can also submit attestation requests for patient companion leave alongside patients' sick leave. The changes are designed to simplify procedures, reduce bureaucracy and accelerate service completion in line with the UAE Government's Zero Bureaucracy objectives.
