The UAE has streamlined its sick leave attestation process, shifting responsibility from employees to healthcare facilities. Under the enhanced system announced by MoHAP on Wednesday, hospitals and healthcare facilities will now submit attestation requests directly on behalf of patients and their companions. Eligible requests that meet required conditions proceed automatically to the approval service without needing a new application. The changes apply to Federal Government employees and local governments of Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Healthcare facilities can also submit attestation requests for patient companion leave alongside patients' sick leave. The ministry said the enhancements simplify the customer journey, reduce procedures and accelerate service completion, in line with Zero Bureaucracy objectives.
