The resolution establishes 1 June 2026 as the effective date for unified salary payment rules. The first day of every calendar month becomes the official due date for the preceding month's wages; any payment after this date is legally considered delayed. MoHRE introduced this framework to standardise payroll timelines across the private sector. Exemptions are narrowly defined and require employer notification and documentation. Banks, financial institutions, and places of worship are categorically exempt. Seafarers and foreign workers paid outside the UAE may request exemption subject to Ministry approval. Workers on unpaid leave, those with active absconding reports, or those whose liberty is restricted by court order are also excluded during the relevant periods.
