Wastewater dumping penalties include vehicle impoundment and up to Dh100,000 fine

Dubai Municipality has taken action against tankers disposing wastewater at unauthorised sites. Under Dubai law, disposing wastewater at locations not designated by the authority is prohibited. Violations carry hefty penalties, including vehicle impoundment and a Dh100,000 fine under Resolution No. 14 of 2015. The resolution specifies penalties for waste disposal violations ranging from Dh1,000 for dumping general waste in public places to Dh50,000 for spillage from concrete transport vehicles on public roads. Other penalties include Dh3,000 for disposing used oils in sewage systems or pouring them onto roads, and Dh10,000 for failure to prevent wastewater leakage from buildings or tanker spillage onto public roads.
