Heavy traffic expected on Sheikh Zayed Road and Dubai–Sharjah corridor Thursday evening

Drivers across Dubai and Sharjah are facing a slow Thursday evening commute, with congestion building on major routes. Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) is showing significant slowdowns between Dubai Marina and Expo City Dubai, with moderate to heavy flow through Jebel Ali Industrial Area toward Al Maktoum International Airport. The Dubai–Sharjah border remains heavily congested along E311 Emirates Road and E11 through Deira, with heavy queues near Al Rigga, Al Karama, and Dubai International Airport approaches. Congestion is also building around Dubai International Airport on D85 and E11 approaches, with traffic spilling back toward Oud Metha and Business Bay. Within Sharjah, congestion is building near Sahara Centre, Al Khan, and approaches to Sharjah International Airport on E88. Drivers are advised to avoid peak travel between 5pm and 8pm where possible and use real-time updates via the RTA Smart Drive app.
