The Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the UAE and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) officially entered into force on Tuesday, establishing preferential trade access between the UAE and Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and the Russian Federation.

Under the new regime, the UAE and EAEU countries will grant preferential access across more than 86 percent of tariff lines, covering approximately 96 percent of the value of goods currently traded between the two sides. The agreement reduces or eliminates customs duties across a broad range of products, streamlines trade procedures and establishes modern rules for customs cooperation, e-commerce and supply-chain participation.

UAE-EAEU non-oil trade reached US$33.6 billion in 2025, rising 16 percent from US$29 billion in 2024. The agreement is expected to support annual trade between the two markets to nearly $50 billion by 2032.

Minister of Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi said the agreement transforms commercial momentum into a practical platform for exporters and manufacturers, improving market access and enabling businesses to move goods more efficiently across five Eurasian economies.
